The restaurant Agiu Georgiu is located in Ostrava, and in our opinion, it is the most authentic Greek restaurant far and wide. It has been run by a Greek family from Thessaloniki since 2009. The atmosphere will envelop you as soon as you arrive. Once you sit down, take off your jacket, look around, and listen to the music, you will forget your current worries and stress because you will be transported to the Mediterranean. The menu offers a wide selection of traditional Greek specialties in the style of home-cooked Greek cuisine. The dishes are prepared mainly from ingredients imported from Greece. The staff, who are family members, are very friendly and helpful, know exactly what goes into the dishes, and almost every day they will offer you a specialty and soup of the day. The vine leaves stuffed with rice, i.e. dolmadakia, were delicious and well-balanced in flavor, the turkey skewer with peppers had beautifully tender and juicy meat, and the lamb’s lettuce salad was also perfect. We particularly enjoyed the Greek chocolate dessert, which tasted better and better with every bite, thanks to its moist texture and honey syrup.
