The Alchymist Hotel is located in Prague’s picturesque Lesser Town. The entrance to the hotel itself resembles a castle, decorated in this style in every detail – comfortable carpets, glass chandeliers, and a sumptuous castle style throughout the interior. The San Carlo restaurant is run as an Italian restaurant, and it really is –
the menu is a showcase of Italian cuisine, including focaccia, caponata, carpaccio, risotto, pasta, meat, and fish. Czech cuisine is also represented, for example in the form of cream soup with dill and potatoes or roast tenderloin in cream sauce. The caponata appetizer had a great consistency, was well seasoned, and was complemented by burrata and excellent olives. The risotto with shrimp was very good, with plenty of cheese. The chocolate dessert with raspberry sorbet was an excellent sweet ending. The entire menu exuded Italian charm, as did the pleasant music that accompanied the evening.
