Soyshi Brno

Soyshi is a new modern Asian restaurant in Brno’s Líšeň district. The space combines minimalist design with elements of Japanese esthetics and offers an open kitchen, a private dining room, and an espresso bar that is open during the day. The restaurant is located in a complex that houses other establishments, services, and shops. The cuisine is based on the principle of modern Asian fusion, combining Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese influences with a European sense of presentation. The official menu features distinctive flavor combinations. We started with a glass of cava, which had been open for quite some time and had lost its bubbles. However, the pomegranate lemonade was excellent. We tasted juicy gyoza dumplings with duck meat, garlic, ginger, sesame, and truffle oil. Another appetizer was hotate, grilled scallops with curry paste, fish sauce, and milk bread, where umami blends with a delicate sweetness. The main courses include shrimp with mango tartare, curry, coconut milk, and charred lemon – a harmonious, slightly spicy, and visually appealing dish. Or sushi in the form of an ocean roll with tuna, salmon, shrimp, eel, avocado, yellow radish, cucumber, and sesame mayonnaise. The dessert menu features a light and balanced panna cotta with lemongrass and wine-pear gel. Soyshi is a breath of fresh air in Brno’s gastronomy scene, but the service does not yet fully match the level of the restaurant, presented by the establishment itself. On the other hand, we appreciate the taste and esthetic presentation of the dishes.
