The Tusculum restaurant in Karlovy Vary is one of those places where you feel comfortable. Located a short distance from the colonnade, yet in a quiet and peaceful corner, it offers a beautiful interior and an atmosphere that invites you to linger. It is the ideal place for a fine dining experience, whether you want to celebrate or just treat yourself to an exceptional evening. The menu is based on fresh, seasonal ingredients, which is reflected in every course. The restaurant also offers a tasting menu with wine pairings. We recommend the octopus carpaccio – delicate, elegant, with balanced flavors. The main course, tuna as the fish of the day, was served with lotus root, pak choi, salicornia, and poke sauce on sushi rice – this is a proof that even Asian-inspired food can be served in a European style and with an elegant concept. Chocolate brownies with sour cherries and fruit tea sauce were a pleasant end to the lunch. The courses are well thought out, the service attentive and knowledgeable, and the staff were happy to advise on wine pairings, which could be complemented by a slightly larger selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
