Zájezdní hostinec U Jiskrů

The inn U Jiskrů is located in the picturesque village of Kbelnice near Strakonice. The restaurant with a view of the kitchen is complemented by the authentic interior of the inn – the appearance of the tables, chairs, china, but also swing music background. The menu is new every day, but if you come across the steak tartare, do not hesitate. The inn focuses mainly on Czech classics, such as sirloin with cream, paprika chicken, Szeged goulash or duck with cabbage. You can also try seasonal specialties, such as duck legs or snails, during the Christmas period. Among the starters, the pate of goose meat and liver spread on toasted walnut bread stands out, the dish is delicately accompanied by cranberry coulis, smoked garlic puree and onion marmalade. For dessert, we recommend the crème brûlée, which is imaginatively served in a copper mini-pan, or the unconventionally served cream puff, layered in a glass with puff pastry on top. Despite the less sociable service, the inn is a shining treasure of South Bohemia.
