DINNER OF THE YEAR 2026
Five Exceptional Chefs. One Unforgettable Culinary Experience. The Best of Czech Gastronomy by Gault&Millau.

14 November 2026 · Reason Restaurant, Prague

What happens when five exceptional personalities, recipients of the 2026 Gault&Millau Awards, come together in one kitchen, each creating their own part of a single shared menu? The result is a dining experience you won’t find anywhere else, on any other night.

Dinner of the Year 2026 offers a rare opportunity to experience, in a single evening, the cuisine of five of the most distinctive figures in contemporary Czech gastronomy, as recognised by Gault&Millau. Each will bring their own culinary craft and philosophy to the table – their signature style, experience, approach to ingredients and way of thinking about food.

Marco Christov / Oldřich Sahajdák, Khanh Ta, Jan Horák, Sabina Keltnerová, Jiří Hrachový.

Five gastronomy awards. Five different stories. Five distinctive culinary signatures.
One tasting menu created exclusively for the guests of this extraordinary evening.

Five Chefs. Six Courses. One Unique Dinner.

Dinner of the Year is more than just another tasting dinner. It brings together five distinctive personalities recognised by Gault&Millau for their culinary talent and contribution to Czech gastronomy in 2026. For one exceptional day, they will share a single kitchen, using their food to reveal who they are – how they think about it, how they work with ingredients, and how they transform them into something uniquely their own.

Every course will be different. Every one deeply personal. Yet together, they will become part of a single shared story. Perhaps your story, too.

Dinner of the Year will begin, following a welcome glass of sparkling wine, with four different amuse-bouches – a first glimpse into each chef’s culinary world, served in just a few bites.

Next comes the bread, followed by five signature courses. Khanh Ta and Jan Horák will each create one of the starters. Passionate fisherman Jiří Hrachový will take on the fish course. The main course will showcase the cuisine of La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise, represented by the team behind the Chef of the Year 2026 award – Oldřich Sahajdák and Marco Christov.

The final course belongs to Sabina Keltnerová, Pastry Chef of the Year 2026, who will bring the menu to a sweet conclusion. And as one last farewell, the evening will end with a selection of petit fours.

The entire menu will be accompanied by sophisticated wine and non-alcoholic pairings, carefully designed to complement each course and create a complete and harmonious tasting experience.

Marco Christov + Oldřich Sahajdák

Gault&Millau Chef of the Year 2026

Oldřich Sahajdák, Chef of the Year 2026, is the driving force behind the cuisine of Prague’s La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise, which he opened in 2006. The restaurant focuses on modern interpretations of traditional Czech and Central European cuisine, working with local, seasonal ingredients, and has held a Michelin star since 2012. Gault&Millau recognises Oldřich Sahajdák for his honest and professional approach, his commitment to supporting the next generation of chefs, and the genuine, down-to-earth character he has retained despite his many professional achievements.

This year, Sahajdák has stepped into the role of Chef Patron, entrusting the leadership of the kitchen and the continuation of his culinary philosophy to Marco Christov, who has worked his way through several positions at La Degustation before becoming Head Chef.

Khanh Ta

Khanh Ta

Gault&Millau Great Chef of Tomorrow 2026

Khanh Ta, Chef of Tomorrow, is behind Prague restaurants Taro and Dian, as well as Pho 100 bistro, together with his brother Giang Ta. As executive chef, he oversees recipe development, menu concepts and the chefs leading each of the group’s establishments. At Taro, he brings traditional Vietnamese flavours and ingredients together with modern fine dining, exploring their potential in new and unexpected ways.

Khanh Ta, who spent his childhood in the Krkonoše Mountains and the surrounding region, gained a deeper understanding of Vietnamese cuisine during an internship at a culinary school in Saigon. He also gained experience at Czech restaurants Story and Entrée. Gault&Millau recognises his ability to bring Vietnamese cuisine into a fine-dining context, working with traditional flavours and ingredients and transforming them into new and unexpected culinary experiences.

Jan Horák

Jan Horák

Gault&Millau Young Talent of the Year 2026

Jan Horák, Young Talent of the Year, is the founder, co-owner and chef of Prague restaurant Reason, located in the iconic Masaryčka building. Here, he combines fine dining with sustainability, creativity and freedom. His modern cuisine is rooted in craftsmanship, clean flavours, seasonality and locality, which he approaches within the broader context of continental biodiversity. He is not afraid of bold flavours or unconventional presentation, and believes that every element on the plate should have a reason for being there. He also enjoys weaving subtle “hidden messages” into his menus.

Horák has been cooking since childhood and has been actively involved in gastronomy since the age of fifteen. He has worked in hotels and restaurants of various sizes and styles, and says that hands-on experience has taught him the most. Gault&Millau recognises his work with young talent as head of the Czech Junior National Culinary Team, his professional approach dating back to his apprenticeship, and his involvement in culinary competitions as a judge. We also highlight Jan Horák’s courage and creativity in developing menus and working with ingredients.

Sabina Keltnerová

Sabina Keltnerová

Gault&Millau Pastry Chef of the Year 2026

Traditional Cuisine Chef of the Year 2026

Jiří Hrachový, Traditional Cuisine Chef of the Year, is co-owner and executive chef of Výčep in Prague, a modern take on a traditional Wallachian pub. His cooking is rooted in Czech traditions and classic recipes, which he gives a contemporary interpretation without losing their authenticity. He places a strong emphasis on high-quality Czech ingredients, craftsmanship and sustainability. At Výčep, the team makes many of its own products in-house, including bread, cheeses, cured meats, herb oils, smoked ketchup and traditionally fermented cabbage.

Hrachový comes from the Beskydy Mountains and studied gastronomy in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. He began cooking at a young age, and an important chapter in his career was the five years he spent in England, where he gained valuable experience and developed professional discipline. He later completed internships in both the Czech Republic and abroad. Gault&Millau recognises his innovative yet tradition-driven approach to Czech cuisine and his long-term contribution to its development. He takes a strong stance on sustainability and responsible cooking, respects Czech culinary traditions and local ingredients, while at the same time embracing innovation and pushing the boundaries of classic Czech recipes.

When Tradition Meets Courage and Creativity.

When Tradition Meets Courage and Creativity.

The evening will be united by a shared respect for ingredients, tradition reimagined through a contemporary lens, and a sustainable approach to gastronomy. Yet each of the five chefs will interpret these themes in their own distinctive way.

Czech and Central European traditions in a modern interpretation. Vietnamese flavours in dialogue with contemporary fine dining. Local ingredients and sustainability. Traditional recipes that retain their authenticity while being given new life. And a dessert that is far more than simply a sweet finale – a complete gastronomic experience in its own right.

Five culinary signatures. Five perspectives. Five different paths towards the same goal – to create something truly worth tasting and experiencing.

Reason Restaurant
A Setting Worthy of Dinner of the Year

Reason Restaurant
A Setting Worthy of Dinner of the Year

Following last year’s premiere at Zlatá Praha in the Fairmont Golden Prague, we set out to find a venue for the second edition of Dinner of the Year that would be an equally fitting setting for this exceptional evening. We could hardly have found a better successor than Prague’s Reason restaurant.

Here, on the rooftop of the iconic Masaryčka building designed by architect Zaha Hadid, Jan Horák leads a kitchen that brings together fine dining, creativity, sustainability, locality and respect for ingredients. And Horák himself will be one of the five award-winning personalities coming together for this extraordinary occasion.

That makes us all the more delighted to have Reason host the second edition of Dinner of the Year – not simply as a venue, but as part of the story of the evening itself, providing the setting for five distinctive culinary signatures to come together.

Our thanks to Reason for giving Dinner of the Year a home here.

Dinner of the Year 2025

Dinner of the Year 2025

How a Tradition Was Born

The first edition of Dinner of the Year took place in October 2025 at the Fairmont Golden Prague hotel – and set the bar remarkably high from the very beginning. At the newly reopened Zlatá Praha restaurant, three outstanding chefs – Jan Knedla, Daniel Tillinger and Maroš Jambor – came together to create an exceptional menu for Gault&Millau guests.

The very first Dinner of the Year showed that an event like this can be much more than a tasting dinner. It can become an unforgettable encounter between different personalities, cuisines, personal stories and culinary approaches.

This year, we are taking the tradition even further.

Three chefs make way for five award-winning personalities. Five distinctive culinary signatures. Five remarkable figures shaping Czech gastronomy today. One evening that belongs to all of them, and to the guests who choose to be part of this exceptional occasion.

Be part of the second edition on 14 November 2026 at Reason.
Only 80 seats available. Tickets go on sale on September 29, 2026.
