In the saddle of a mountain ridge at an altitude of 924 meters above sea level, inside the Šumava National Park near Hartmanice, we discovered a unique mountain hut with a remarkable history dating back to the Theresian era. This place, called Ebene in German, once served as a coaching inn, and after a dramatic period of decline after World War II, it was lovingly restored in 2009 to its current form, which respects the genius loci of the Šumava landscape. The accommodation offers stylishly furnished duplex rooms – from double rooms to six-bed apartments for larger families or groups of friends. We appreciate the romantic decor with antique furniture and the cozy atmosphere, which will appeal especially to families with children, for whom there is a children’s corner and an outdoor playground. The restaurant Chata Rovina offers Czech and international cuisine. The pleasant climate, fresh mountain air, and peaceful surroundings make the cottage an ideal starting point for hiking and cycling trips in summer or skiing in winter.
