The Royal Leaf restaurant at the Honour and Grace hotel catches your eye at first glance – surrounded by forests outside the city, its elegant, high-quality French design comes as something of a surprise, and the subsequent culinary experience only enhances this impression. The service is friendly and attentive, and the waiter is eager to please. The menu focuses on freshness and creativity – the restaurant, or rather its Chef, grows its own ingredients behind the building, which is definitely noticeable on the plate. The amuse bouche was a pleasant, delicate pâté with poached pear on a spoon. The salad was fresh and tasty, and the scallops and cream were absolutely delicious. The duck with pistachio chocolate surprised us with a beautiful combination of flavors and textures. The entire tasting menu was beautifully composed in terms of flavor, served at appropriate intervals, with breaks for conversation. The Pavlova dessert, a dot in the form of small meringues as fluffy as clouds, was exactly what rounded off the whole experience with a sweet note at the end, as did the excellent homemade lemonade.
