U Sapíků, this means honest cuisine based on Austro-Hungarian traditions. Jaroslav Sapík’s family has been gaining fame and culinary skills since the 17th century at various aristocratic courts. Carefully selected family recipes show inspiration from Paris to Vienna to Budapest. Tradition with a modern twist. A well-thought-out menu made from local fresh ingredients. Among the starters, we were delighted by the marinated salmon trout with horseradish foam, roe, caramelized apples, apple gel, and dill. The classic Viennese veal schnitzel with Lower Austrian salad spread across the entire plate was absolutely fabulous. However, the zander in butter with shellfish sauce, roasted pumpkin, potatoes, and caramelized chicory was truly an experience. The restaurant boasts a stylish interior with period features. The atmosphere is enhanced by the courteous yet pleasantly informal staff from the “old school” in the best sense of the word. It is like being in the movie “I Served the King of England”. A wider selection of wines by the glass and more knowledgeable staff would further enhance the experience. The restaurant offers long-standing above-standard quality that reflects enthusiasm and respect for hospitality.
