Zámek Zbiroh – Krčma U Rudolfovy kratochvíle

For fans of history and good food, Zbiroh Castle offers an all-in-one experience. When you walk through the castle gate into the courtyard, you will see the entrance door to Krčma U Rudolfovy kratochvíle pub on your right. When you open it, you will remain in the olden days. Even the wine cellar is hidden here in an old cupboard. We recommend Tafelspitz – offered here as part of a four-course menu. The waiter will place a small pot with beef knuckle tip and small pans with side dishes on a hot plate. First, you will taste the delicious and strong beef broth, followed by marrowbone, which the waiter will “fish out” as the second course. The main course is the perfectly prepared beef tip itself, “fished out” of the pot, along with a delicately seasoned roll cooked in milk, with leaf spinach and garlic, fried potato straws, and fresh horseradish with apples. For dessert, you will be served apple strudel in thin puff pastry, full of raisins and hazelnuts. A delicate vanilla sauce is also included. You can also choose other courses from the local menu, such as roasted pork knuckle, stuffed roasted chicken, or braised beef roulade.
