Restaurant Papilio

Papilio is a restaurant that will win you over as soon as you arrive – the parking spaces are not marked with ordinary lines, but are effectively illuminated, which immediately suggests that this is no ordinary establishment. You enter the restaurant after ringing the bell. Slightly nervous, but completely professional and friendly staff will let you in. Inside, guests are greeted by a white, clean interior with historic arched ceilings, but also modern elements such as a glass passageway to the restrooms. A comfortable sofa right by the entrance and an open kitchen – all this creates an atmosphere that is both grand and clearly signals that this is an exceptional gastronomic experience. Chef Jan Knedla is talented and ambitious, serving a tasting menu of six, eight, or ten courses. Each course is perfected down to the last detail – from imaginative canapés to playful petit fours. We chose the six-course menu. It featured combinations such as tomato salad with ponzu and apple sorbet, perfect zucchini blossoms with peas, fermented almonds and mint, catfish with Beluga caviar and an excellent oyster leaf, guinea fowl with yellow beets, and an excellent deconstructed apricot cake. The dishes were light, balanced, and beautifully presented. It is also nice to be able to pair them not only with wine but also with tea, which takes the whole gastronomic experience a step further. Papilio is a restaurant that aims to provide a top-notch fine dining experience and is definitely worth a visit.
