Čestr

The restaurant Čestr is a modern, designer establishment with an open kitchen that continues to focus on honest meat and a modern take on Czech cuisine. The atmosphere is pleasant and exciting, as guests are part of the cooking process. In one of the starters, the Chef creatively combines marinated meat with gin and three other flavors – a mushroom emulsion, a relish made from pickled mushrooms, and a gel made from seasonal preserves. The subtle hint of gin was noticeable but not overpowering, and nicely tied all the other flavors together. Roasted veal with nduja sauce added an international touch to the current selection of main courses. This Italian delicacy perfectly complemented the creamy sauce with which the veal was served. You can finish your dinner here with an original dessert – a beer sundae served in a beer glass. The subtle malt bitterness of the ice cream contrasted nicely with the pickled cherries and raisins. At the bottom of the glass, a crunchy hazelnut crumble topped it all off. The staff are friendly and attentive, and in addition to an extensive wine list, they also serve excellent beer.
